Steel cargos on the Great Lakes have shot up by 35% this year

Steel cargos are up 35% on the Great Lakes this shipping season.
About 19.5 million tons of cargo has passed through the St. Lawrence Seaway to Great Lakes ports, including the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor and the Port of Chicago, according to the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp. International ships known as salties come from the Atlantic Ocean to Great Lakes states in the Upper Midwest as well as Canadian ports to the north.
